Glass Fused-to-Steel Technology
Engineered
Storage Products has been utilizing the glass fused-to-steel
technology on tanks it manufactures since 1949. The coating is a
special proprietary formulation of borosilicate glass and
minerals that when fired above 1500°F result in a glossy, inert,
inorganic coating, chemically and mechanically bonded to steel.
There are more than 15 different ingredients that give glass
fused-to-steel coating its performance characteristics. With a
coating thickness of 7 to 11 mils on both sides of the sheet,
Aquastore tanks provide effective corrosion resistance from
internal and external elements. The strength of steel combined
with the smooth durability of glass give Aquastore tanks quality
longevity that is unmatched in the market.
ADVANTAGES
TYPICALLY, PAINTED TANKS NEED COSTLY REPAINTING FROM TIME TO
TIME--GLASS FUSED-TO-STEEL COATINGS ELIMINATE ALL PAINTING.
THE 5,000 PSI CHEMICAL & MECHANICAL BOND CREATED BY THE GLASS
FUSED-TO-STEEL PROCESS WILL NOT UNDERCUT.
GRAFFITI WILL NOT ADHERE TO THE GLASS SURFACE.
